The tail section makes it an A-20, not a B-26. I see a very clear "9" on the tail and maybe a "0" after it, but that doesn't seem to line up with any losses on the Baugher list - maybe this was lost enroute to Russia?

Never realized multiple A-20 wreck spots existed near Nome, but it makes sense.

From the scatter of the wreckage it looks like it came in from the sea and struck that little bluff above the beach leaving the empannage and wingtip behind with the rest scattering beyond. RIP fellas.

Just to let every one know the guy that does all the talking in the vid is a really big youtuber channel. Hes a metal detecher from sw PA spends lot of time on civil war battel fields. Hes got a bunch of commercial backing hes been to uk germany and other places. First time ive seen him on a wreck site.

Theres a bunch of these metal beekers in the uk. One of them was going around to old airbase dump sites. Finding all kinds of stuff one time he found a p51 armer panel. Theres guys in germany and russia too. Might be a good idea too contact these guys and get them looking for airplane stuff.

There was an A-20 crash with fatalities at Nome on March 14, 1943.
