Looks like a good show. It would be a 3-4 hour drive for me but there are literally no full scale shows that are closer than that to me now. Maybe I'll make the drive next year.

If you do, get there several hours before you want to be. I was in line for parking a little before 5 and didn't get in the gate until 7:45. My Dad was in line coming from another direction around the same time and got in about 15 minutes before I did. There was not a soul directing traffic outside the gate. Perhaps they were not expecting this sort of crowd and maybe they will be better prepared last year. Hard to be too mad about it as it was partially (or probably mostly) our fault for not getting there early, but it was still frustrating. I will definitely be going back, but will be arriving much earlier next time.

The actual airshow and flying was phenomenal. A great mix of warbirds and vintage jets. Any show where one can see F-100, F-86, MiG-17, B-17, P-51, 2 TBMs, Wildcat, Skyraider and Bearcat in the air is worth the trip. The evening setting made it even better. I was lucky enough with the way traffic was timed that the only act I completely missed was the Wildcat aerobatic routine. I ended up leaving before the fireworks because we heard from some locals that they typically didn't get home until after 2 a.m. due to traffic from previous fireworks shows at the airport.

Marvelous captures! Nice blog. Enjoyed reading of the treks and tribulations stalking the cone shot!
