However, and especially due to the importance of this aircraft, it is odd how difficult it is to find images of it.
With exception of this thread and the three images posted here:

North American Yale

First NA-64 built.
Serial No. 64-2033

First date: September 27, 1940 - Taken on strength

Used by No. 12 Communications Squadron at RCAF Station Rockcliffe, Ontario. Category "C "damage on July 29, 1941 at Rockcliffe. Had 1,570:35 airframe time when struck off. Last date: September 25, 1946 - Struck off strength to War Assets for sale.

Sold to Ernie Simmons of Tillsonburg, Ontario. Reported for sale in Texas in 1990.

The famous Simmons sale was in 1970-72?
His collection was featured in the first Air Classics I recall reading.

Any idea where the aircraft was between the sale and the 1990 date mentioned above?

To add to that, I believe that this was one of the six or so Yales that Tom Reilly acquired after the Simmons auction from folks who bought airplanes and didn't really have a plan to restore them.
This was told to me by the chap who took the records at the Simmons auction for Dan Murray (the auctioneer) as Tom supposedly called this guy up after the sale and asked him to put him in touch with as many of the Yale buyers as he could. He ended up acquiring 6 or 7 Yales this way, including 3424, 3434 and 3447.

In one of the records I borrowed and scanned from Tom Dietrich (of the Tiger Boys fame...he's owned six Yales over the years: 3359, 3409, 3411, 3416, 3454 & 3456) it shows his handwritten note that 3464 was located at Muir, Ontario (a small hamlet on Hwy 53 between Woodstock & Burford) so I am assuming that the original post-Simmons owner was from Muir and he ended up selling it shortly afterwards to Tom Reilly. Probably within a few months to a year of the sale (Labour Day Weekend 1970)

I recall reading in the Air Classics article previously mentioned, one f the Yales was bought by a non-aviation guy who thought it would be a nice play set for his kids. Hopefully, that airframe eventually found a good home.

The article gave me the impression that since they went for reasonable prices, many were bought by people unaccustomed to antique aircraft and whose dreams were bigger than their capabilities or wallets.
Those are the aircraft Reilly probably got.
