Being apart of the Connecticut Air & Space Center I can tell you that we were / still are interested in acquiring some of the airframes from this collection. (Being geographically close also doesn't hurt.) But I don't think any of our attempts to contact the powers at be succeeded. Anyone know who to contact? The two largest logistics to overcome for us right now are transportation and storage. One advantage we have is tarmac space behind the Curtiss hangar for outside display. So it would pretty much be the same situation as they are in now.

Which assets are you looking at? I think a number of them have found new homes (though many are still on property)

I've been in contact with them and have made a few visits for some smaller items for our own little museum.

What's currently left at the site:
F-14A, C-1, A-4F, Avenger, A-7D, A-6E, F3D, UH-1H, P2V, Mig-17, A-4M and P2V. There are a few aircraft in various serious states of assembly/disassembly; F-4A, F-4B, A-4C, Hellcat, Skymaster(s)

Yes, actually she was purchased by one of the former board members.

Also, it looks like the S-2 has twin fins, but it doesn't have the randome like the WF.

Correct, it is a C-1 that was the test bed for the WF-1. Has the WF tail section but retains the C-2/S-2 type wing fold.

Would make for a unique modeling subject!

He said he'll probably never get to finish it but he has plans to restore sections at a time. The rear fuselage and both the vertical and horizontal stabilizers look in good shape like alot of work has been done on them.

Although an old post,
all aircraft and all aircraft that were awaiting assembly have new homes. Wikipedia is completely inaccurate with its information as are most web sites.
To the poster stating you can walk in and take anything tje security visualization systems in the area are second to none, the list is long but all will get a visit.
7 have been prosecuted. Being on an active military installation and surround by the largest DoD contractor trespassing is no longer a minor crime but a federal offense.
The parts hunters/trophy seekers have found out the hard
way.
Most of the collection will be flown again.
Minus 6 NNAM owned units.

Sure, NNAM aircraft:

XF15 prototype: North Carolina
SH3 Sea King: North Carolina

A4m Sky Hawk: Alabama

F6f5 wreck Hellcat: NNAM

C1 prototype: NAVSUP WSS

F4A: Delaware

F14: USNA

A6B intruder: undisclosed in process
RF4B: undisclosed in process

In first post we stated 6 NNAM aircraft
we forgot about tje 4A and the. F6F wreck
Our own collection has gone to private collectors
or organizations. All but 6 will fly again of the
20 or so that remained. Those organizations
wished not to be named at this time.
