Didn't this happen just after WWII?

Better get your bid in for the scrap metal, as the auctions ends on the 8th May. :(

Hmmm. I wonder why the "required demilitarization" for the Tracker?

Rob the bid includes S-3. I bet the photog just screwed up and took the picture of the S-2/C-1? by mistake. Notice that the pictures were taken on Celebrity row. The aircraft being offered are probably pretty picked over already. Specifically notice the NO PARTS provision in the bid.

They will go through a hammermill which will reduce them to .25 cent size pieces and then a Govt. inspector will sign off on the demil. Kind of overkill don't you think ?

Another auction, this one includes T-34s which surprises me. There are foreign governments already acquiring the T-34C . They're getting pretty aggressive in getting rid of the 141s too.

This just pisses me off - When I spoke to the NHC they gave a full blown response of why it takes sooooooo long to get an aircraft to display at a museum. HUMMM. . . . guess they forgot about the Tomcats included in this lot

granted, they will be making pennies on the dollar via this sale but at the same time a museum has to pay to demil and transport the airframe to the museum site! costing the gov't very little! Well, I'll be sure to really enjoy and cherish the next Diet Coke can I get.

Tom, don't talk to NHC about museum aircraft allocations, talk to Helen Watson at the Museum in Pensacola. She'll let you know what documentation she needs from you in order to put your organization on the donee list. Then submit a list of aircraft you would like to put on display. If something becomes available she'll let you know what she has.

Including what?

...T34, H53, AND TARGET DESIGNATORS.

What do they mean by "target designators" - are they drone targets?

What a waste. I would like to see a list of the airframes that are involved. Perhaps there is something semi-complete in this lot that could go to a museum.

Well if all the airplanes went to museums, then Hillary would not get any $$$$$$........she is one of the major stock holders of Govt liquidations. :D

Rick - yes, thanks for correcting me - as soon as I shut the computer down I realized NHC was wrong and it should have been Pensacola. It was Helen that gave me the speach about how long and so on and so forth. Well at least we have been on the list for one year - just 5 - 10 more and we might get a Phantom! LOL - we'll see I guess.
