The 15,000th P-47 Thunderbolt ...

Here's a rare one.

Republic P-47N-20-RE Thunderbolt 15,000th P-47 Thunderbolt Off the Assembly Line July 1945. I haven't found much on what became of this particular P-47.

dang with 15k t bolts made there has to be alot of them sitting in fresh water lakes awaiting discovery somewhere I would think??

Yeah, I'm afraid to say it but I wonder if they flew that 15K Jug directly to the scrapyard.

It could well have become a Lend-Lease aircraft to South America. I see P-47 serials ranging from 44-4891xx to 44-4893xx were some that went to Nicaragua. Latin America used many F4U, P-47 and P-51 aircraft.
