This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Too bad you don't have any photos of them going down in flames, preferably taking the crew with them. If ever there was a symbol of pure evil, those things are it.

I would be interested in understanding what prompted this statement.

Me too!

Ignomini, do you have a relative that perished under the Nazi's? If so, I can understand your sentiment. However, all history needs to be remembered - even the Nazi's. If we don't remember them and their atrocities, then it will happen again. Also, not all German military members were bad. There were some that were very noble such as Claus Von Stauffenberg, Erwin Rommel, and others. Some former German military members, after the war, even fought for our side in wars that the U.S. military was involved in. Sometimes you can't help where you were born and you must fight on the "wrong side". Lest anybody think I am a Nazi sympathizer, I'm not. I categorically reject everything the Nazi's stood for. But, I'm also smart enough to know there are good and bad people on all sides of war. Painting everybody with a broad brush is wrong, in my opinion.

By the way, I like this thread. Everyone please post more Stuka pictures!

Let me just say, I tried to answer the questions posed to me. All my responses have been deleted. Too bad. I guess being Jewish means I am not allowed to make reasoned arguments about why certain aircraft might be a little triggering. Still love warbirds, but I guess it's time to move on from this forum.

Shalom,
Robert Goldman

Ignomini, I did read your replies and wrote a detailed answer before both were deleted by the Mods. You have every right to think the way you do. Being Jewish had absolutely no bearing on the deletions, in my opinion. The Mods just saw a possible conflict developing and didn't want it to develop into a heated argument which would derail the thread and turn everybody off - that's all. I've been reading this forum since day one and I've never seen anything from any of the Mods that would indicate that being a particular religion would get your threads deleted. I was rather surprised that both of our posts, along with others' were deleted as all of us were having a very civil discussion up to that point with zero escalation. The Mods have a tough job here and they know, based on the history of this forum and their experience, that threads that talk about controversial subjects where emotions are involved can rapidly devolve and destroy threads and taint the forum atmosphere.

Like I said, I read your response and I respect your perspective. I agree, it is time to move on, as it's not worth discussing anymore. Please don't leave this forum, as I actually do enjoy your input here!

Agreed with all the above. Stick around.
