Here are some Youtube links to a few gopro videos. I'm editing a ton of footage and posted a few snippets. More to come.

The ball turret video was NOT what I was expecting! What a perspective!

Thanks for sharing, Jim. I’ve meant to thank you for letting me sit in Betty Jane a couple years back in Burlington, NC. She was down with a carburetor problem at the time of that rings a bell. I was sorry to hear that you were no longer with the tour this past year when Collings returned to NC. Hope all is well! Thank you for sharing all the photos and videos over the years.

Good to see you Jim, I've been thinking about you lately, about how great it was when you were posting regular insider updates from the Collings tours. I said thanks then but I'll say it again! Wonderful stuff then, and super cool to get some "fresh" stuff now!

Cheers to you, sir! :drink3:

Thanks guys! I've hours of this stuff. I'm putting together a video now that will be published with and without a soundtrack. As much as I love Merlin engines, they just don't sound the same from the inside.BUT, I know a lot of people don't like music, or some musical selections, so I'm doing both. These are more like home movies than anything and we all know that cliche. I'll post the upload when it's done. In the mean time I'm gonna publish snippets. All those years on tour I never really spent time watching anything I filmed or even the SLR photos. It's been a fun journey.

Thanks for all the uploads Jim. You know we all live vicariously through you!

In this new chapter of your life, are you currently flying any warbirds now to get your warbird "fix"?

Here is another from a move flight in 2012 when Aviation writer Larry Lowe rode with me to Yuma. I'm pretty sure it ruined him for other airplanes. I've been putting around in antiques...my Cub, an Aeronca C-3, a Taylorcraft, Yak-18, and a few others. Life in the slow lane ain't all that bad :)

This was a short bit of lazy acro going between cities...no edits, no music, just raw footage.

Hardly a warbird, maybe, but I sure wouldn't mind seeing that C-3. 8)

This one is for fun and was intended for our annual Groundschool. Just added some clips recently to finish it up.

Love it!

So for the clueless yet curious - how do you attach the Go-Pros on the wings in a manner that you are assured to get back down with a camera still attached?

We used the sticky mounts on the bombers...never lost a camera. The Mustang, we experimented with several concepts and settled on a carbon fiber mount that was molded to the airfoil shape and went on the tip fairings. Took about 5 minutes to attach and didn't require screw removal. It's pretty slick, the guy who made it for us was seeking the paperwork and patent or copyright. Never followed up, so I'm not sure where he stands on the design. I still have it :)
