Doesn't "Yanks" have a project one that got fished out of the Everglades or somewhere? Or is that now one of the previously mentioned ones? Stan Hoefler showed me some parts of it years ago.

Tho not accurate...A set a wheel pants would "spiffy up" the appearance of the land-based gear, something Mr. Yagen might ought consider some thought to doing?

Thanks for the link to the article on De Haenan and Dormoy, Mark. Something mentioned in the text about Remy's first plane being a rear wing Sportster...that should read, a "Rearwin Sportster". Thinking aloud here, the photo of Remy's Sportster actually appears to have features of both the Rearwin Sportster and Rearwin Junior with a 5 cylinder engine...possibly an late Junior(which was offered with an Aeromarine 5) before Sportster's debut a coupla years later.

Looking at the Kingfisher on wheels, it kinda looks like had you hung a -1340 and a set of spray booms on it, it might have made for a heck of a crop sprayer! :drink3:

Another exceedingly cool thread from Mark! 8) I suspect that 1:48 scale model kit (Monogram?) made Kingfisher fans out of a few of us, long ago... geek

Mark,

Another civilian operated Kingfisher was that of Norm Padgett in Borneo. It was the former RAAF Kingfisher A48-5 and was operated for about 4 years in Borneo, unregistered.

A "search" on the Geoff Goodall's Aviation History Site, http://www.goodall.com.au/, entering the name Padgett will give you some information. Geoff also lists Kingfishers in his Warbirds Directory section.

Great photographs you post on this website. Thanks.

Not being actively worked on at the mo - P-39 and a P-40 ahead in the queue.

Once Jerry’s P-39 is flying (which I heard a couple months back could be early this year), his Kingfisher should start getting some work done to it.
