A26 44-34172

Wed Apr 04, 2018 3:26 pm

Hi,

Back in 2016 Courtesy Aircraft sold an A26 project (44-34172).

I came across the aircraft a couple of times over the years in the UK, once at Manston and once in Norfolk, stored on both occasions. Does anyone know where it ended up and what is happening with the project now?

Hi there,

This Douglas A-26 (44-34172 c/n 27451) went to France some years ago, after long term storage in truck trailers in the UK.
Christophe Brunelière bought this A-26, and he has started the restoration but unfortunately stopped with the work on 44-34172 about 2015.
Then it was sold indeed in 2016 by Courtesy Aircraft, to Ailes Anciennes de Corbas, and this aircraft stays in France still today :supz:
They are doing very well to complete the plane, and to completely restore it all the way. luckily this will be one of the few in europe that is flying than in the future. There are more in Europe, but not airworthy.
