Glad that PoF's P-47 Thunderbolt is back home - but I thought she might be wearing some new colors as long as she was down for refurbishment...

Not Tom Camp flying the P-40. The POF P47 is planning on getting new colors. All the work done for the last year and a half was in the cockpit and acessory section

Some nice footage of Steven Hinton performing the test flights of the POF P-47G this past week, following the work at Tom Camp's place:

It is nice to see that the jump seat was taken out and the rear cockpit structure put in. I also hadn't noticed, until now, that the correct turbocharger exit duct/fairing under the rear fuselage was added a few years back. It is looking very stock/authentic now.

The rear seat is still there We made it a convertible where you can take a few screws and cam locks out remove four panels and it’s back to where it was.

Awesome show today at POF! Great flying all around, as usual! pop1

Highlights for me:

"Dottie Mae" & POF P-47 formation passes.
P-40 "Lulubelle" in the air.
Collings P-38 in the air during Pacific segment.
Tasty passes by P-51D "Swamp Fox."
Strega and Voodoo in the air.
PB4Y passes on Bomber segment.
2 F7F Tigercats formation passes.
Not dying from heatstroke as it was kinda HOT.

Happy to share my pictures from Saturday but please know that I am shooting with a very inexpensive Nikon Coolpix and I am no photographer. I shoot pictures primarily for the purpose of documenting what I've seen and don't get too "artsy" for the most part. On top of that, these are raw and unedited. But they do serve to give you something to look at until the "real" photos start showing up!
