most versatile award........ the f-80 / t-33, best looking......... f-104, most bad assed brawler...... the f-4 phantom, biggest bang for the tax payers buck....... the b-52

What about a TSR2.... now that has to be one of the coolest out there. However, the trump card would of course be the SR-71. It still looks like it comes from the next century... not the last.

Cheers.... Richard

PS. The A-6's nickname amongst some people I've known in the F-14 community was "Sky Pig".... sort of sums it up really 8)

Gee, guys, if your going to go as far out of O.P.s "warbird box" as the B-52, SR-71, and TSR-2 and we might as well include the Avro Arrow! Though I don't think they follow the spirit of the original question as NONE of those will ever be civilian owned. O.P. I thought you running this?....Take control, man, before there's more carnage.

I'm not undecided either because it's clearly the F-86!

How about the RF-84 Thunderflash or it's sister the Thunderstreak..any of those
become Warbirds yet?

Might not qualify as a warbird but surely a jet .... the PZL M-15 (might have a military use dropping nerve agent)

Your right. Mike I missed the A-37. Got the T-2, Rob. Also missed the Fouga.

Airnutz, haven't heard of any type of F-84s making it to civilian ownership. The AF was pretty aggressive in scrapping all kinds. To my knowledge the survivors are all on loan through either the USAFM or the program run out of AMARC that loans to public entities or nonprofits, specifically VFW and American Legions.

Chris, same problem with the F-2H-2 as the F-84. None have ever made it to civilian ownership. As a matter of fact veerrry few Navy jet aircraft have made it to civilian flight status.

An F 105 Thud..........................witha full fuel endowment for unlimited operation at max afterburner.

If you check back a few years ago, you'd find that some civilian was flying an F-84 in Thunderbird colors.

Also, there are several F-84s in museums that are no longer the property of the Air Force. The Air Museum and Yanks Museum are a couple that come to mind.

Just to muddy the water:
UH-1 Huey.
Jet powered and most definitely a warbird....

Might as well muddy them a lot.... AH-1 Cobra, and OH-6 Cayuse and yes there are some Cobras flying in civilian hands. Army Aviation Heritage Foundation outside of Atlanta has at least 1.

Hi Rob!: Not out voted. The overwhelming favorite amongst WIXERS that have decided the A-6 is the Best Jet Warbird Ever, Is, The A-6! Everyone else has not decided that the A-6 is The Best Jet Warbird Ever, hence, the "Undecided" votes.
