Recently I saw a picture of a WWII era newsletter for NAA employees. Can't find the picture, nor can I remember the name of the newletter. Googling has led me no where. Anybody know what I'm talking about or am I delusional?

It was called the "Skywriter" (sometimes recorded as "The Skywriter"). Some guys have been able to collect these over the years, though I have just a few scans that have been shared online (such as those with articles in which NAA clearly refers to the A-36 as the Mustang, such as I posted here: viewtopic.php?p=607712). The "Skywriter" newsletters were published for North American Aviation, Atomics International and Rocketdyne employees over a more than 30 year period, so you can find copies of the newsletter published well into the space age and into the 1970's.

Thanks! Thats the one I was looking for. Now I need to find copies. Things like that need to be preserved. If anybody has issues of this newsletter, let me know. Maybe we can archive them if it's not done elsewhere.

There were many plants that had such newsletters. For instance, Douglas had the "Douglas Airview News" that was a newspaper style weekly newsletter that was printed and distributed at each of its plants (and each plant's newsletter was different.) Douglas also had the monthly Douglas Airview magazine, that was done a lot more substantially. I have quite a lot of the Airview News issues from the Tulsa plant, which are super hard to find. The print run had to be just a couple thousand, and with wartime scrap paper drives, I would suspect that not many survived. Spartan Aircraft also had its own publication as well, called the "Spartan News." Issues of that paper are also pretty hard to find.

I remember seeing a NAA pub that was called NAA Skylines, but I think it was a employee news letter.

Yes, that's right, there was "Skyline" as well, which was an NAA-published bi-monthly magazine for employees.
