Tried doing this the other day but Photobucket would not cooperate for me... but it is now...

Some of these photos I have taken off of our museum's Facebook page to fill in between the last photos I had taken.

Jack, his son Mark and Jack's other helpers have been working on three main areas from what I can tell:
1) Continuing to cover the wings
2) Working on the landing gear wells
3) Finishing off the engine and its cowlings

Hello,

I’m looking for some information on the project of Jack Roethlisberger's Spitfire!

I’ve seen on pictures that the brakes of the spitfire are inside the wheel … With the association Réplic’Air (French volunteer group) We are rebuilding a dewoitine fighter that never flew. We do not have the space to put some disk brakes ouside the wheel ! Thus, the same installation would be necessary for our Dewoitine D551 project

Could you please tell me more about this installation (geometry, supplier,…)?

We are facing challenges all the time for sure and one by one we hunt them down !
The brakes integration, is one of them, and I hope to find an answer ... hopefully with your help

We target to fly next year for the time being (6 monthes delay to the original calendar)

I believe they are just stock wheel assemblies off of a Twin Cessna. I will try to find out the next time I see Jack

Question: looking at the engine installation with the carbon-fiber cowling assembly, how are they feeding the Allison's downdraft carb? Is there tubing built into the cowling that takes air from the intake below the engine, and reverses the airflow to take it in front of the engine, and up to the top? (Just curious.)
