I’m sure the NTSB and FAA are already investigating it. What if it was a part failure and the entire fleet of DC-3s needed an immediate inspection before returning to flight? Anytime there’s losso& life or limb it is a very big deal to the FAA.

Except it is illegal for the NTSB investigators to work on domestic investigations currently. Apparently local law enforcement is copping the bill for guarding crash sites in general, I haven't heard anything about this site specifically.

Yes very funny and very ignorant to say its very old and can break. Just because something looks old that doesn't mean it is.
Something very old can be rebuilt or literally remade to like new condition with new materials. It is done in the automotive world daily, as well as the aircraft world. That is a problem with news people and politicians they are too visual when it comes to machines they lack the knowledge and mechanical back ground to make an educated statement concerning any sort of mechanical device or system, they should keep their mouths shut and find someone that actually knows something.

If you get a Transportation official in front of a camera regarding an "old" airplane, which is mandated with annual inspection by licensed personnel, ask them about the inspection programs and failure rates of bridges and roads in their locality.... DOT is DOT, right?
