New dude here - don't know if this question has been asked.

What are the numbers of F4U's, any dash number, that are flying? Are there any airworthy hulks being brought back to life? What is the possibility of finding a Corsair tucked away in a hanger or barn in New Zealand or France?

For survivor info and such check out our registry at

As for finding one in a barn anywhere... it would probably be easier and more likely to win the lottery. But you never know.

Welcome!
There are others better qualified to comment, but here's a few quick answers:

A fair number. There was a recent gathering at the factory. Have a search through the forum to get up to speed on this and other Corsair stuff.

Yes.

Very unlikely and almost impossible. :D

Best wishes

There is a somewhat forgotten project tucked away in a hangar in New Zealand. Last I heard, the owner was willing to sell it for $750,000 as long as the buyer was a native of that country.
