This darn Navy Diary Entries

Anyone know the fellow who keeps this updated? I was really enjoying the reading and there hasn't been a new post in a month or so.

I tried to find the thread here about it, but I could not.

BTW, not sure why it switched my heading from "D*mn" to "darn." Evidently we have a sensitivity to language I was unaware of.

Yes, I know the fellow. Unfortunately and sadly he has passed away recently.

The thread was pretty deep, the last post was back November 12th. Unfortunately he contracted 2 strains of flu which took him in a matter of a couple of weeks. RIP "Burl" Burlingame, his passing notice by the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum....

A real shame to hear that. Hope someone else can finish the transcription - I'd even be glad to help.

I'm wondering if the museum will continue posting Nolan's diary when things settle down? As I recall it was set up to run 5 years...'course that don't necessarily mean it's paid for for 5 years.

That is so sad. I sincerely hope that someone will keep the posts going.

Nolan seemed to be an outspoken character, with good values.

I was looking forward to hearing about his subsequent war service - not to mention if, or whether, he ended up with Diane.

An excellent story so far.

Fingers crossed.
