It is interesting in the second B-24 prang photo how the aft section of 'Flying Ginny' seems to be just gone... We can see the side of the fuselage with the star and bar, but no twisted/wrecked tail feathers? That is most likely laying on the ground under the second aircraft, but it sure looks clean.

The P2V-5 with the Skyraiders seems to have been the offender....as there is one feathered prop, and the Spads were all tied down...

P-47s appear to be at an Island Base in the Pacific, and were having the shipping preservatives removed. Apparently the chocks were removed too. Note how there are engine and pitot covers on the planes...so taxiing was probably not happening.

The 109’s and many of the aircraft appear factory fresh....meaning mechanics were probably taxiing!

F6F Hellcat looks run over, note how Armor plate is bent forward, and the rear fuselage spine is gone! Left wing is bent too....

P-47's Stateside Taxiing Accident.


Same.

These two don't appear to be the same accident. The left main gear of the following aircraft is on the left side of the vertical stabilizer of 44-88311. In the bottom picture, the only craft that ended up in this arrangement were the last two...and the serial looks to be different and the following P-47 has a drop tank.

I'm thinking flipped by the look of the wing and prop blade. The vertical isn't wiped forward, but smashed straight down. If the plane had forward momentum left after the flip (backwards to the plan when inverted) the armor would be bent forward like it is. If my interpretation is correct, the pilot may not have fared well.
