It should be P-40C. Does anyone have a pic, where you can read the text, or maybe just knows what's written there?

The label you see is right next to the coolant access panel, and the label simply read "PRESTONE", as shown here on the Flying Heritage P-40C:

Similar "Prestone" labels were applied to other Allison-engined aircraft early in the war as well, such as P-39's and P-38's (and at least in the case of the P-39, this label was later changed to just a stencil that read "Coolant").

"Prestone" was really being used as a synonym for the word "coolant", and when you look in some of the old manuals around that time, instead of "coolant lines", "coolant drains", "coolant filters", etc., it was all marked as being "Prestone lines", drains, filters, etc.

'Prestone' was one of the first antifreeze liquids available in the 1930s... it became a generic name for the substance. See 'Xerox', 'Kleenex', 'Jello', etc. Of course still a major brand name.
