It would be neat to restore as a curiosity.
It would look good in a film as a USAAF transport or a '30s executive transport.

I wonder how much it would cost to get it flying?

Is this the airplane that was featured in "Private Pilot" or "Custom Planes" magazine about fifteen years ago, or is this a second one?

It's another one:

From the January 1968 USCAR: N59192, c/no. 7351.

and from Vultee resources: c/no. 7351 = BT-13A-VU, 41-22921.

The one in the ad is BT-13A 42-41852/N9137R, formerly XB-SAE.
Not sure but IIRC there were three of these built? Note the aircraft log has XB-LUC crossed out and XB-SAE added. All I've found for -LUC was a Cessna 150 that crashed at San Luis Potosí in June 1976; -SAE is on a derelict Cessna 172 in Mérida.

Also note if you zoom in on one of the other paperwork photos, there's a copy of an airworthiness certificate for N59191, issued in 1953. So... sister ships indeed.

There was one for sale several years ago in Texas. It was tan and brown and had flown u til about 1990. My guess as to why these didn’t catch on is 1) the fuel burn is high compared to other light twins like the Apache, C-310, the twin V Bonanza and the twin Navion. Also, BT-13’s typically had major fuel leaks and this would’ve dampened their popularity.
I do think it looks pretty good and the windows in the conversion are reminiscent of the Vultee V-1 airliner.
