After working in aviation for years and knowing the airport IDs for most around the country I only recently understood the airport identifier for Orlando.
The airport used to be McCoy AFB, hence the KMCO
I also learned about who McCoy was.
In a hundred years or so, when the local kids in tech school are trying to fix up the runout Supersonic Gulfstream G750 left behind after the corporate revolution of the year 2102. Maybe the coastal metropolis that is known as New York City will be big enough to cover Portsmouth, NH to Portsmouth, VA. Then they will need to have a name like PEASE to stand out once again. I say we get ready now and name it the "Halfprice Parking-Halfway to Boston-Halfway to Manchester, New England regional PEASE Intergalactic Spaceport brought to you by Mellon".
Naw, that will never happen. The kids wont want to touch that old relic. "It doesnt even leave the subatmosphere".
Anyway, do you think the old United 727s up there would make good museum pieces?
You can learn alot from WIX
