The 2000 edition can be ordered at www.aerovintage.com/catalog.htm The author Scott Thompson is a WIX'er and contributes to this forum from time to time. With all the goings on in the world of B-17's it would seem that it is almost time for a new edition!

Is there any info concerning the Cooktown, Queensland water wreck of B-17E, 41-9235?
Major Linberg/Crew crashed into the sea 29/Sep/42 and I understand the wreck is viewable from the air,
but have yet to discover diver photos of the wreck.
I was at the Aerovintage site this morning and didn't see her mention in the list of the "un-recovered".

I've also been looking for info concerning B-17E, 41-9196 which went down during a raid on Vunakunau, Rabaul 5/Oct/42 Lt. Earl Hagerman and Crew perished. They're not mentioned on Dunn's 19thBG site.
I've tried the obvious websites, but have the scantiest details.
Any help would be appreciated.

Are you sure? The cover appears to be identical to my 1993 edition. I'd hate to order the book to find out it's got the same info as the copy I have(although, my outdated version is still awesome).

Yes, I am sure! I have a copy of each. I agree, the covers are identical except in the lower, right hand corner of the Revised and Updated Edition.

If you like the original, you will be very happy with the second edition.

If the house was on fire and I could only save one book from my collection ( and it fills 4 bookcases ) ~ this is the book.

Well, I can only say that I am honored to be the author of the only book you would have to save. If your house burned down I'd mail you a new book just to help you out anyway. As to Final Cut, the second edition is close to selling out. As to another revised edition, it will probably be awhile due to expense and potential sales. But there are several new and unexpected restorations and/or recoveries going on in the B-17 world these days so I would expect to have a good reason to do a revision in a few years.
