This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

According to a well known member here and contributor to Flight Journal, they have fired Editor Budd Davisson and owe contributors payment for their submissions. Flight Journal has been my favorite aviation history mag and the only "non warbird-centric" magazine I still subscribe to. They issues have become smaller, but still had great articles. My renewal notice came the other day and I'm holding off sending it in until I see how these changes effect the magazine. Figured some of you might be in the same boat and would appreciate the heads up...

Interesting- I was told they would not answer/return Budd's calls and emails...

Budd quit after 22 years has the editor. A number of contributors including myself
have not been paid for a very long time. Speaking only for myself it's been 18 months
with an amount in 4 digits that I'm owed. Budd has been after them time and time again
to pay the folks who in his words "make the magazine what it is" with no result. It finally
got to the point they wouldn't answer the phone when he called or return his emails. So
he said F this BS and quit. If you wonder why keep contributing when they don't pay the
answer is simply Budd! He a stand-up guy and pleasure to both work with. I'm proud to
call him a friend! Watch his ''airbum" webpage has he's gonna be making some major
changes and upgrades. Has for the magazine......they set there own course and made this
situation what it is! So whether make it or not I won't be losing any sleep over it!

Wow. Looks like Budd must have been a good proof-reader too!

I have a complete collection back to #1 but I've noticed the content and quality slipping in recent years (a multipage-article on aviation watches? Please.). I let my subscription lapse but have still been buying issues on the stands. Sorry to hear of this. I've been reading BD since I discovered him in Air Progress in the very early '70s.
