Tom, That is exactly what I remember from the show too. Many years later and having spent much time offroad with my trucks, it makes me wonder how many stuntmen must have been injured by those jumps; you know, head buts, teeth, chest impalements.

I'l have to get in line behind Scott with Netflix, hopefully they'll carry them.

Yup, Netflix has em.

One thing I always remembered was the use of M7 Priests as "Panzers"

Ok, here's what I know as I have the first season on dvd.

1: The series was filmed in Spain

2: There are two capped over M7's, two M-47 Walker Bulldogs and one M-48 Patton that I have seen so far. (Have not watched all the episodes yet.)

3: Note the dummied up halftracks with the sloped armor added to the nose. They had to cut out a big hole so the driver could see where he was going.

4: The SMG's were current spanish military issue at that time.

5: A warning for you all. Do not get me started on everything that is so very very wrong with their vehicles. It won't be pretty. Just realize when it was made and enjoy it for what it is.

6: Side note. Combat is also available on dvd

Heh, you just have to forgo the accuracy angle and go for the enjoyment factor. I give em credit for at least trying to make the halftracks look German.

Shamelessly lifted from Internet Movie Database.

Plot Summary for
"The Rat Patrol" (1966)
Set in North Africa during World War II, this series chronicles the adventures of a 4-man team of commandos within the Long Range Desert Group. (In utter defiance of historical accuracy, the team consists of three Americans and one Brit.) Armed with jeeps equipped with .50-caliber machine guns--and endless chutzpah--they wage a highly irregular war against Rommel's Afrika Korps. Their most common nemesis is Hauptmann Dietrich, though Dietrich and the Rats join forces from time to time against a common enemy.
