This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Scott you do a hell of a job. Thanks!

I'm a regular donor to WIX, automatically, every month. But that doesn't help you personally Scott, I know, and regret.
I really appreciate your volunteer efforts with the site. Thank you! I know that isn't much physical help, but I want you to know I admire what you do.

Sorry to hear about your woes Scott. You do a great job with WIX. I hope you are able to continue with the website. Donation sent.

I too am a regular donor to WIX, automatically, every month and happy to do so.
You've built a nice thing here Scott and there's no reason for it not to continue to stay alive and healthy. It's been a great asset for many of us who enjoy this old airplane stuff, even at the expense of our (my) better judgement and sanity at times lol.
I haven't heard from you on this subject because I have a feeling your acceptance of others generosity may be limited. Not because of any other reason than you may be too proud for your own good. And that means your an honorable guy with pride and integrity almost to a fault. Nothing wrong with that.
Unfortunately for you, you've fed the 'beast' far too well over the years. The 'beast' is us! and we're still hungry Lol. So the only way you can solve this particular problem is by us solving it for you, at our selfish benefit.
You need a new computer? You got it!!! Just find the one you want and it's yours .... and don't view it as a gift to you, but rather more food for the 'beast'. How's that sound?!

^Bravo, Mark! I just kicked in a donation as well.
My main computer went to the doctor today for a power supply transplant, so I know whereof you speak - thank goodness I backed it up recently.

As a user and fan of the WIX site, thank you Mark!

After the last computer fried I kept the site files on a separate internal hard drive. I also back them up to an external hard drive though that was a month ago.
However, once I get a new computer I will be able to swap the drives, install the software and be up and running.
Thank you Mark for you offer, PM sent.
thanks everyone for the help. Your support is what makes keeping this site running and expanding. I appreciate the support. Thank you all.

Small donation sent. Thanks for all you do, Scott!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who chucked some money into the til. You have no idea how much I appreciate it.
Enough money was sent to enable me to send the computer to a shop for repairs and just got it back a couple of hours ago.
I'm now up and running and will be back to updating the site immediately (actually already added an update for Forgotten Jets
http://forgottenjets.warbirdsresourcegroup.org/F8U.html)
I just want to let you guys know that it's this community support that helps keep this site going. While I would like to be able to do this full time, we at least bring in enough revenue to cover the majority of operating expenses. I don't make money off the site (occasionally I have income surplus to by a book)
To clarify things, this site is not a non-profit. I would like to be able to support my family with the site and that would allow me to continue the 10-12 days I spend on the site (at least while I'm unemployed).
I want your opinion on this. Am I nuts? Am I selfish?
I don't want to sound unappreciative, I truly appreciate the support I receive (both the direct contributions and the 12 paypal and 2 patreon subscribers). But should I even consider trying to get the site to a level that I can make a living? Is it a pipe dream?
Let me know what you think.

You are not nuts.
You are definitely not selfish.
Dare to dream!
You have worked your heart and soul in to this site.
There are many of us who enjoy it here very much. It is a phenomenal resource.
No one will begrudge you trying to feed your family.
Don't be shy about letting us know what can be done.
Regards
Andy

What Andy said!
I'm a monthly subscriber, but I'm gonna up my amount because this is totally worth it. Thanks, Scott!

Well this Sucks!!
Glad you got your computer back, but it’s a bit too late. I already broke open my piggy bank and counting out enough nickels and dimes to get you a new computer.
I already counted them out and put them in rolls. Lol
Buy your wife a new computer now

Mark, you are a gem. Thank YOU, sir.

Keep that dream going please. Your only nuts if you dont try. Just subscribed for a monthly donation on PayPal. It's not a lot right now but maybe I can increase it later. Hope others consider the same as this is a great site that I check everyday.
Also thanks to Mark for the great posts and the computer offer.
The best of luck Scott.
