Any mark Spitfire...not picky, just need a Spitty! And, I would have it painted neon pink with purple polka dots just to piss off all the people who want perfect paint jobs :drink3: :spit :spit :spit

Oh wow - realistically I could afford none of these BUT

The WWII side of me wants the PBY - I'd repaint it in correct VP colors - maybe add a bow turret - probably leave the interior as is and just generally have fun.

The performance freak would get the F-4 Phantom and finish the rebuild. I have a few USN acquaintances So I'd probably leave the VF-2 colors on her as well.

I'd take a B-29!

In the original Miracle on 34th St, Kris Kingle says,

"Some children wish for things they couldn't possibly use like real locomotives or B-29s.."

Yeah? Watch me. Hand it over, Santa.

Since this thread was originally about choosing something that's on the market right now, with the assumption that I had the money to buy and support it, I'd opt for one of these (just not sure in what order):
- Super DC-3 (I have a soft spot for any DC-3)
- Grumman Albatross (I live on the shore of a 40,000 acre lake)
- Eastern TBM-3E Avenger (it's an Avenger; 'nuff said)
- C-46 Commando (big 'n bold with room for all of your buddies!)
- the Skyraider would be neato, too!

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!

I would pick the yellow F8F-2, and leave it in that design paint! Just lovely.
