TBM Lead, Checking In

Sun Aug 08, 2004 9:28 pm

Sorry, could not help myself. I'm seen in TBM lead with three off our wing and nine more behind us. I took this during the Saturday grand finally at YAF.

You got it! How about 3 P-47s tearing in for a pass. These guys were up several times each day.

That is it, I'm off to bed.

I'd like to say I hate you but really just very envious!  Sounds like I missed a really good show this year. I'll have to work that into next year (I hope)

If it helps at all I'm in pain from head to toe. Did some damage to my body getting up an down from the TBM and stretched every mussel in my legs during an awesome PBY flight. When I come home limping from an airshow and in pain I know I had a good time :D

I will try and get some preview shots up tonight for all to see.

Cheers,

Eric

See Eric, the windows weren't THAT dirty now, where they? It's a never ending job trying to keep that beast clean... let alone flying! :0) Great stuff, looking forward to seeing the rest of it. Jim

Jbox-

You disappoint me. I thought after getting to shoot air to air photos of three Thunderbolts you would have dropped the tagline "Mustangs Rule".

I am going to cure you yet, but I don't know what more I can do

Tim,

I'm surprised you did not snag a T-6 and go for the sight. Three in the air is pretty cool and by Sunday there formation work was getting really tight. I will never forget the sight of them peeling off at several thousand feet and strafing Willow Run.

I almost did. Duane offered to let me fly his T-6 as he was flying Sidney's because it has the flip over canopy for photos. But, I didn't want to complicate the photo work and get in the way...so I stayed on the ground.

If Rick could have brought his T-6 as well as the TBM, he could have brought you along and even joined the flight! It is in P-47 unit markings after all. That would have made four, and you could have shared in all the fun! :0) Jim
