This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Next week I will be taking a road trip up from LA via some back roads of central California back home to Oregon.
I will be taking Highway 33 from Ohai to Coalinga.
Then 198 west out of Coalinga.
Then Highway 25 north from the middle of nowhere to Hollister, then up into the Bay Area.
Are their any interesting warbirds, small airports, planes mounted on poles, etc. that one would not normally see if driving up I-5, or HWY 99? Alas, we will not make it out to Castle, or see the B-17 in Tulare.
If anyone has any tips on interesting places to visit along this route, I would love to hear from you!
Thanks,
Michael

Hollister, Livermoore, Hayward, Stockton, Auburn, Petaluma, Santa Rosa, Paso Robles, and theres more. They are all good places to see warbirds.
If you are on the road that saturday or sunday, come over to the Marysville airshow, June 10-11. Thats going to be a good time.
