Theres nothing like looking over at 2 p-51s flying in formation next to the b-17 your in, lol.

Does sitting in the tail gunners position of the B-25 and gazing at the 9 others behind you in flights of 3 plus the other 2 off your wing come close?
Or sitting at the escape hatch of the 25 gazing at 2 P-51s, TBM and a Tutor on your wing against the setting sun?

lol nice, sounds great.

Ok ~ Ok ... I admit it ..... I AM A B-17 STALKER ! ( Gosh ~ now I've said it ~ I feel better already )
It all started innocently enough with a ride in the CAF's B-17 ~ Sentimental Journey in 2002.

Since then ~ things have got a bit out of control ~ the ride tally currently looks like this ...........

B-17 Aluminium Overcast
B-17 Fuddy Duddy ( 3 times )
B-17 Nine-O-Nine ( 2 times )
B-17 Sentimental Journey
B-17 Yankee Lady ( 3 times ~ 2 of which were cross country last year ..... YAF are just the best of the best when it comes to being helpful ! )
B-24 The Dragon and His Tail / Witchcraft ( 3 times )
B-25 Miss Mitchell
B-25 Yankee Warrior
B-25 Tondelayo
CWH's Lancaster ( My ears are still ringing from the sound of four Rolls Royce Merlins flying in perfect formation with 60,000 rivets )
CAF Dixe Wing's P-51 Mustang and SBD Dauntless ( How did they get in here ? )

My ambition ? Try and fly in the other airworthy B-17's if possible ..... Liberty Belle / Thunderbird / Chuckie / Miss Angela / Pink Lady / Sally B !

I figure there's no point waiting till I hit 50 before becoming just a tad eccentric ~ and it's not like I'm ADDICTED in any way .....

At this point I'd like to thank VISA and Mastercard for being so generous with the amount of credit they've given me over the years and my bank manager ~ who still thinks my last loan was actually going to be spent on kitchen units ..... when it was actually put to much better use at Thunder Over Michigan last year !

Blue Skies .....

I got lucky at the last West Houston Sqdn. open house and flew in these aircraft for my first flights in a warbird. Photos courtesy of Tulio.

You know Jack, I've given this some thought. Your ride certainly has the makings of a thrill ride, but, no offense meant here, I don't think I want to top that.

All I could think of while reading your description was dollar signs adding up,...fast !

I personally haven't rode on a Warbird. But last year at the Indiana Aviation Museum a gentleman came all the way from Arizona to ride on the P-51, A-37, F4U, T-28, T-34, PT-17. A total of $3,500. What a vacation! 8)

First was a T-6 in about 1978. We were at an airshow and Dad gave me $50 bucks for a ride. When I came back he said "Where's my change?". I just smiled.

First stick time in warbird then O2-A, also my first WB check out!
