Japanese SNJ

Found these on the internet, kind of interesting, a Japanese marked SNJ at NAS Lakehurst NJ in 1944, probably some war movie. The Japanese were fortunate in that you couldn't tell when their National insignia was upside down or not. :D

That paint scheme was for the 1943 film Salute to the Marines; some of the air-to-air footage was used in the 1976 version of Midway. Interesting to see the movie paint was left on it for a whole year.

Here's a still shot from the 1975 film "Midway," which used footage from the 1943 film as a backdrop for a process shot.
