Where are they?

Several "old school" WIXers are missed by yours truly.

I found their postings to be usually informative.

So, here's hoping that you guys are doing well. It is likely that I missed information regarding your status.

Tom Friedman
Steve Dennis
Al Stix - astixjr
Mike Vadeboncoeur
Ryan Keough
Tim Savage
The Kernel Rohr (I know you have been banned forever for the third or fourth time, when are you going to learn to control your temper? You are truly missed, by me at least)
Versatile
Jagan
C170BDan
SwissMustangs
Mudge (I know you are R.I.P. but you are missed, nonetheless)
KarenG
SPANNERmkV
Macharvard
LadyO2pilot

There are more, but I don't remember your WIX aliases.

For example, Ollie in Canada, near Montreal, used to fly a FW-149.

Or the guy from Brenham, TX who was working to become a B-17 plane captain.

Or the guy in Illinois, across the river from St. Louis...

Saludos,

Tulio

Tulio, you were right about Rob Rohr. Sent back to banned camp.

I miss Bill Greenwoods posts. I was sorry to hear TE308 went back to the U.K.

Many folks still read much more than they post. Jack Cook still shows up once a year or so

Even with change, being the biggest constant, there are still a lot of folks who make this site worthwhile.

Hi Tulio,

I'm still here, busier than ever. Having Oshkosh withdrawals big time this week. Thanks for thinking of me though.

Hope you are doing well my friend!

Andy, thank you!!!

Steve, soon it is going to be -tempus fugit- 12 years since the last time I saw you and your family.

I will always remember tenderly your then little son, crying because a plant was going to sleep
because of the upcoming winter.

Wix has blessed me with good friends, and plentiful information on the
subject of warbirds in particular, and airplanes in general.

Thank you, Scott for your hard labor keeping the site all these years.

Saludos, :drink3: :drink3: :drink3:

I think a lot of those people post on Facebook still. You might look there to reconnect.

Glad you're still with us, Tulio. You bring WIX a lot of knowledge on warbird operations in Latin America, past and present, a subject which I find interesting.

But you're right, we have lost a lot of good folks who no longer post here.

Thank you, Dean. I know little about the vast Latin American aviation history in general, but I do what I can, to share that
limited knowldege.

Thank you, Brandon. Alas, I have managed to stay away from social media but thank you, for pointing out the location where some of the old guatd hang.

Saludos to all of y'all.

Hey Tulio,

Feeling old seeing my name on your list! We have been at this WIX forum for MANY years!

I'm still making the rounds of Warbird and vintage hangars in Texas and occasional trips around the country. I'd say I lean a little vintage more that Warbird but am a nut for all 1930s thru 1950s aircraft. I stay active on Instagram with my account "DTLinn" posting vintage aviation photos and art from my growing archives. Vintage aircraft research results in posts to my web site.

Busy spending time with my family and building models with our boy.

My last aviation outing was a couple of weeks ago to East Texas visiting the Mid America Flight Museum. Great people and amazing airplanes.

Best wishes to you Tulio!

Hola, Dan.

Let me tell you right away, that Cessna 170s are one of my favorite classic airplanes.

I do not travel as much as I used to do, and my aviation fix screams loud for attention nowadays.

There is also a Mid America Aircraft Museum IIRC the name, in Liberal, KS. I also went to the one you visited in East TX, but it was closed when I got there.

Yes, we have been around WIX for a while, haven't we?

Saludos!!! :drink3: :drink3:

Hola Tulio! Estoy! A few health problems forced an early ''retirement', but I'm still kicking. Staying safe with my air conditioning and a bottle of rum. Good to know you're still good. Stay safe.

Doug, it is good hearing from you.

I frequently consult your book on Canadian Harvards. In my humble opinion, it is a must-have in any aviation library.

Sorry to hear about your health issues. I'll drink a cold Tsing-Tao to your good health.

Saludos,

Tulio

As one of the old WWW-forum I'm still around but check out WIX once every week to keep up with the situation in the US (as you may know I am more into RAF-kites as that is usually what we find in the Netherlands during our investigations, but we have found a B-24 wreck in the IJsselmeer which may be interesting).
I am really curious what happened to Tony King.
Cheers
Cees

Cees,

I have admired the Dutch's dedication to aviation. The magazine Scramble! Is always full,of interesting images and data.

Through the years, your postings here at WIX, and those of Benno Goethals, have been always interesting.

Saludos!
