So, when avoiding detonation, isn't it correct to say that the results are somewhat predictable given a fuel's properties, an engine's compression ratio, and a chosen power setting? Since I can't change the fuel (currently 100LL) and I can't change the engine, all I can do is manage the throttle. (This assumes no mechanical issues, i.e. good mags, spark plugs, valves, etc) --Kenexhaustgases wrote:The whole reason for an anti-detonate is to slow and inhibit combustion to prevent detonation, killing a high peak combustion chamber temperature, thus a cooling effect.
