B-25 Question...

Tue Jun 06, 2006 5:51 am

I've read in a couple of different books that a few of the US based B-25's have had pieces of the nose glass replaced with photogragpher friendly low distortion plexiglass.
I'm guessing Executive Suite is one of them, but that is just a WAG...
Anyone know which ones have been modified like that? Anyone have pictures of the glass?
Thanks In Advance...

As far as I know there are two.

Planes of Fame has a special nose that they can put on Photo Fanny that is optically clear for both movies and stills.

I believe the old Tallmantz nose still exists with the group that owns Pacific Prowler.

I don't believe that anyone currently operates with optical glass on a regular basis because such care must be taken to protect it.

Thanks Tim,
I have seen pictures of those photo noses, but for some reason I got the impression from the reading that these B-25's still maintained a stock looking set of nose glass if that is possible :?: .
After reading your response I guess they may have been referring to the ones you mentioned.
