Was it something the people of Exeter said to upset the USAAF?

It was confirmed as an 1000kg Hermann bomb, most likely from one of 19 raids in 1942!

Caused a lot of property damage locally, despite being protected by 400 tonnes of sand and apparently left a hole big enough for 3 double deck buses!
