This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

The Auction concluded and one of the Aircraft (N30UP) went to a museum in England, and I won the second aircraft (N40UP).
I am still trying to contact the Museum and check on their plans for the aircraft.
My understanding is they plan to part it out, but still needs to be verified.

That sure seems odd that the other one was bought for parts, as the cost and logistics to England would seem counterintuitive. Anyway, maybe you can snag the leftover airframe when they finished picking it over, and truck what's left to you airport. Surely you will need something in the future, so would be worth it if you can. Good luck and I hope your trousers have extra deep pockets :drink3: .

Congratulations on this exciting and ambitious project.
Best of luck to you.
When it comes to a project like this, people often ask how much money it will take. The answer is "all of it!" :D
Just kidding
Wishing you well. Please keep us posted.

Well......if the speculation going around is correct, its not that odd.
The nose of 'WT327' isn't the original one, as it was swapped while in service with the RAE using the nose section of another one in RAE service which happened to have been a certain record breaking aircraft much earlier in its life. That record breaking aircraft (with another nose section) was also still airworthy in the UK up until the early 2000's as well, and so, there is a rumour that the people that now own that record breaking aircraft have acquired this aircraft, for spares and also to enable the original nose section of their aircraft to be re-united with the rest of it.
No confirmation of this supposition has as yet been forthcoming though.

are these the two that were in Boise about 20 years ago?

I do not know all the areas the planes visited in their travels. The son of the late owner did say that his dad traveled around the world in the aircraft, do it would have been possible.

I really hated to see the Canberras leave Boise. I enjoyed seeming them.

I believe one of the Boise Canberra is now at the Valiant Air Command in Titusville Florida.

The 2nd Boise Canberra was A84-229. It will become a exhibit at Veterans Museum near Redding, California and be painted as a RB-57A.

Don't know, but I guess I am about to find out how much it will cost!

When you get her flying I will make sure to have you bring her to Wendover for our air show - that will be super unique and awesome to see.
