Mike... could you clear up some confusion? I see it is "Yankee Warrior" that will be there... but it is listed as a B-25H (YW is actually a "D"). The page is named "barbie.html"... and Barbie III is a B-25H (with the cannon nose). Do you know if it will be Yankee Warrior or Barbie III that will be there?

I know "Yankee Warrior" is scheduled to attend. I don't know about "Barbie III".

Barbie III was originally scheduled to attend but has a serious problem and is still in Mesa, AZ and is not airworthy, thus Wear Warriors have cancelled ALL Midwest Events. I guess IAM contacted YAM and scheduled Yankee Warrior instead.

This is untrue. I spoke with Jack Fedor with the Weary Warriors squadron last night. He indicated that they found some minor surface corrosion on the wing of Barbie III that has been corrected. They are taking a hard look at it to make sure it isn't deeper. They don't expect to find anything more.

He asked me to help dispel the rumor that they have a serious problem. They have made the decision to keep the airplane operating in Mesa until next spring because their ride program has been so successful and that is what is required to support the operation of the airplane. While they initially had made the decision to cancel an event that would have had them return to the Midwest when they found corrosion, ultimately a business decsion in the best interest of the continued operation is what has resulted in the cancellation of the Midwest events.

Hope this clears the air a bit about the future of Barbie III.

I was just going by what I was told in an email from the Weary Warriors several weeks ago and said they cancelled at Midwets Activities. I apologize for any confusion I may have contributed to.

So I guess I won't see Barbie on her annual fly over around Chicagoland on Memorial Day, and almost always right over my house. :(

The B-25D Mitchell "Yankee Warrior" will be parked on the Main Terminal Ramp 1/4 Mile west of the Indiana Aviation Museum. Parking is south of the Indiana Aviation Museum in a field.
