Re: Forgotten Rotors... now with H-37 Mojaves

Interesting profile of the second to last H-37. I spied an unusual serial number on an Army bird and sure enough, this is Bureau Number 141646, one of two Navy HR2S-1W helicopters configured for the Airborne Early Warning (AEW) role. The aircraft wasn’t successful in the radar surveillance role mainly because of the vibration inherent in rotary-wing aircraft. It was also uglier than sin! I guess once the Marines and Navy were through with it, the Army decided to give it a try.
