Thanks Rob! Do ya have any interior shots? She's in a steady decline now, such a shame....

What a waste! At one time that nose section had been fully restored for the Beale AFB Museum (now gone). To see it in this shape is pretty sad! The Museum of Aviation in Georgia also has a B-29 nose in storage - as well as a B-29 on display. I believe it came from the Aberdeen Proving Grounds....

Rob
Are the markings (Serial # 42-2479) of the stencil on that correct? I assumed they are but if they are not I'd like to update my pictures of it. Thanks

Tim

An interesting side note on the -29 nose at Robins (44-61739), her aft fuselage is now on 44-61975, better known as "Jack's Hack" at NEAM. I've yet to determine what became of the original aft fuselage of 44-61975, but apparently it was badly damaged and thus switched out w/ 44-61739 while both A/C were still at Aberdeen.

The nose of 44-61739 will be restored and displayed in the new WWII building at Robins once it is completed.

Tim, 42-24791 is indeed the correct serial #.

Hey Rob,

I don't think you guys will get that nose section. Shoot me an e-mail if you want the whole scoop! But I've personally been trying to acquire that nose section for quite some time now, and the director flatly refuses to let it go (even when offered some badly needed *and expensive* parts for other projects.)
