Not likely; F-86D/Ls weren't equipped or approved to tow targets.

Built in Denver, the photo above was on the cover of Motor Life in July, 1961. Chevy engine with a Borg Warner T-10 four speed.
It's a great transmission, found in Fords, I have one in my Barris custom.

I think you mean AMC...it was called a Rambler in 1965.
1966 was the first year of American Motors cars being called AMCs instead of the vintage Rambler name

Old car ads and brochures are a great place to find cars/planes, having an aircraft nearby conveys a sense of adventure, sportyness and wealth.

Ford had a thing for Bell 47s in the 70s. In addition to these two, there was a Thunderbird ad with a guy in a white dinner jacket (obviously going for a James Bond look ) and a woman in a long evening gown standing in the Mojave desert with a T-Bird and Bell.

No prizes for guessing the year and make of the car.
The helicopter is a early '50s Bell 47B with the rare detachable bubble "convertible" top...which was used for agriculture work.

Friend of mine had a 1300 Spitfire Mk III which was great fun to drive. Hopefully I'll get a flight in its illustrious predecessor one day!

AR213 would have been in the UK at the time. Interesting that the car pictured is left-hand drive.

Thankfully I was able to "get the girl" without either Spitfire. I did have an MGB-GT that caught fire with her in it though...

The ad appeared in American magazines at the time (note the SCCA mention), that's why it's a LHD, federal-spec car.
Interesting history on AR213. After the death of the Honorable Patrick Lindsay, (a well known vintage car and plane fan...when young, he and some university friends bought a Vintage Rolls Royce in India and drove it back to the UK passing through several politically unstable areas and surviving bad...or no...roads), the website notes it was owned by Victor Gauntlett, who was the head, if not owner, of Aston Martin in the '80s.
