RN Grumman Avenger with radio-controlled gun turret ...

What will those crazy Brits think of next!! ...

RN Grumman TBF Avenger at Malcolm Engineering Ltd compound at White Walthan c 1943. It is fitted with a radio-controlled gun turret and was the only example converted. Although reportedly successful it was not implemented for RN use.

I think that this might have been related to the FN95 turret that was supposed to equip the Fairey Spearfish.

The remote turrets in that type of aircraft remind me of the XBTD and XTB2D.
