Pics w mountains above are definitely Mojave . It’s just been a long time since you were there. Just drove through there in Sept for Reno as I do most years . And looked on street view too.

Now that you mention it, the last time I was there was 1993. This getting old business is pretty tedious sometimes -- all these things that just not long ago happened turn out to have happened 25 years ago. Or even 40 years ago...

The photo could very well be from the 1974 races. According to Reed Kinert's air race book for that season Tallman did indeed display the Duck at Mojave.

This was at Brown Field south of San Diego, in Santa Anna conditions. A strange place.

I bet the Brits miss the TDY trips for various North American airshows!
I remember seeing Vulcans and Nimrods as well as Victors.
