no change to the example at California Aerofab. I’m guessing that if they had the needed parts they’d be working on it. They don’t generally let unfinished projects linger.OZFURYFAN wrote:Hi BDK, any sign of progress on the TFC Fury with Aerofab, last I heard it was just waiting on he 2800 conversion but that was at least a year ago,))

I think the plan has been to use an R-2800 for a few years now, so that may predate the more recent crash by some years. I understand they were still awaiting the R-2800 conversion "kit."OZFURYFAN wrote:Thanks BDK, I wondered if the delay was related to the UK AAIB investigation into the engine failure& forced landing of T-20 WG655, I have heard there were questions raised with the CAA over the approval to certify the 2800 engine conversion on a UK registered aircraft, I dont see an issue with the conversion personally but prefer to stay original

So NZ3184 isn't being restored as a TP-40N? For some reason they were one and the same.
I'm still confused on this one. Any idea as to the ID of the TP?

As I mentioned in my previous reply, it was an error on my part, that part of my post, and I have since corrected it - it was simply a matter of some slight confusion in my head/miss-identification. Ross Pay's P-40N NZ3184 has indeed been configured as a TP-40N, though not the factory-style, like Kermit Weeks' and the Collings Foundation example - I thought I had seen a factory-style TP-40N being done at Precision as well, but in-fact it was Ross Pay's "TP" P-40N.
