Surviving George H. W. Bush Stearmans

Sat Feb 05, 2022 9:26 pm

I was recently reminded of the fact that there are a number of Stearmans that former president George H. W. Bush had flown. Apparently there are five of them. However, I could only find three:

  • N2S-1, 3347 - Wings of the North (On Loan)[1][2][3]
  • N2S-3, 5369 - National Naval Aviation Museum[4][5]
  • N2S-2 or 3, 7103 - Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum[6][7]

What are the identities of the other two?

EDIT (25-01-17): I learned the identity of the fourth one today. It is an N2S-2, 3555, of the Military Aviation Museum.[8]

I use to fly with Jack Parker in his N2S, 5369, before he traded it to Pensacola. Pretty neat to have flown an actual museum piece with a history!
