Yes, he's the one who has been flying it since it came to the US.

I've always wondered how many hours in warbirds and how many different types Steve Hinton has flown.

Steve did the test flying for Rod Lewis, both in New Zealand and after assembly in the U.S.
Pretty sure he flew the Lewis Mosquito to Oshkosh as well.

No, Stew Dawson took the Mosquito to Oshkosh and back.

It has been Canadian-based since it was rebuilt. Has it visited any airshows in the US?

As far as I know, it has not left Canada for decades, so some people seem confused which Mossie this is, but I think it is true that only Hinton has flown it since restoration.

Very exciting news - we are currently working with KF Aero on their Tempest II paint application :-)

It is easy to remember which Mossie it is, it is the ONLY bomber version flying, all the others have gun noses. It is also the only one flying with original wood, the others are new build wings and fuselages. The only fly one Hinton has not flown is the Fighter factory Mossie.

Excellent! I have a 1/72 Matchbox kit of the Tempest II I bought when the aircraft came to NZ. It's been patiently waiting ever since.

Me as well. That would be a fascinating logbook/s to peruse!

I've had the honor of meeting Steve twice, a very nice guy.
Most recently he spent a recent July 4th piloting the PoF B-25 around Idaho and Eastern in formation with a Tigercat, P-47,P-51 and P-40.

I have met 100 hour Cessna 150 pilots with more "Look at me, I'm a hotshot" attitude.

The Mossie was delivered to KF Aerospace today by pilot Mike Spalding accompanied by KF Pilot Dave Eccott.

We had a guy in the UK who affected captain's epaulettes on his shirt after completing his PPL (or so I heard!). He acquired a C206 to take his mates flying and crashed it on the first trip with a full load - less than 100hrs total! Sadly the 206 was totalled...

I hope Steve's life will be properly documented at some stage soon, although most of us probably know a fair bit of what he has achieved, the full story would be a great read.

PS good to hear this Mossie is flying again. Hope we have one in the UK soon...
