B-29 fuselage in the Cincinnati area...

Mon Jun 12, 2006 5:19 pm

An acquaintence of mine asked me if I had any info about a B-29 fuselage on display in the Cincinnatii/southern Ohio area post WW2 perhaps as late as the early 1980's. Does anyone know of such a B-29?

This was discussed just recently. I think the consensus was that it had been scrapped by the city or county.

The B-29 Fuselage was owned by Karl Kleve. He was supposiviley involved with the manhatten project. He built a bomb shelter on the property. I have a request into the Township office that was fighting him to clean it up. He also had a higgins boat and a few allison engines on the property. He was known around here for trying to design his own car. He put the 4 main wheels from the B-29 on it. He drove it around for a few years. It disappeared sometime in 1995 or early 1996. I left for the Navy and when I came home I tried to get pictures of it but it was gone. There are a few pieces of it floating around the area. I saw an upper hatch from it a few months ago.
