Truly Forgotten Jets...oops

It was brought to my attention that about 8 aircraft types missed the transition from the former Forgotten Jets to the new Forgotten Aviation site... I have started to fix this issue with the following two types:

I've seen a couple of the few survivors...the Sea Vixen is a huge beast!

I took an ex-RAF engine fitter who had worked on Vampires and Venoms in the early fifties to the de Havilland Museum some years ago.
When we got to the Sea Vixen his jaw dropped, there was a stunned silence, followed by "expletives deleted."

I'm guessing Scott doesn't have a secure certificate on his site server. He will have to look into that option to enable https:// connections. There's nothing you can do on your end to change this. Mind you, the risks from not using a secure connection are very low to negligable on sites such as these. It's more important when you're using online banking and such.

And such a shame that Navy Wings have just announced that they are offering the damaged former sole remaining airworthy Sea Vixen to a museum as they have now abandoned any hopes of being able to raise the considerable funds required to repair the big beast after its wheels up landing at Yeovilton back in 2017.

Such an impressive thing to see in the air, and now a sight never to be seen again.

That was always the likely outcome. Despite a pretty well perfect "landing" the damage was massive. I read figures of around £2.5 million as a starting point.

As far as the UK is concerned, it was the last of the big, noisy fifties jets.

You are correct sir. I should look into it at some point but right now time never seems to come in sufficient quantities. One day when I get down to a single job again I will look into it.
