Eugene Leslie Ahern (September 16, 1895 – March 6, 1960) was a cartoonist best known for his bombastic Major Hoople, a pompous character who appeared in the long-run syndicated gag panel Our Boarding House. Many of Ahern's comic strips took a surreal or screwball approach, notably The Squirrel Cage with its nonsensical catchphrase "Nov shmoz ka pop?"

I've never seen an image of the belly turret before. I understand it was certainly not popular with the gunner assigned to those duties as it was sighted using a periscope type of site and caused many of the gunners to become air sick. I'd love to see technical drawings or images of this turret.

Starboard wing has reverse scoops at exit of oil cooler ducting , presumably to draw air out along with the pressure going in at leading edge. Had seen same scoops on the wing of the B25 on display at the Yorktown carrier museum at Charleston South Carolina, but it was on the Port wing. I can’t remember seeing those scoops on every B25. Were they eliminated as being not necessary, only for different models and why only one wing?

Because of the effect of the prop's rotating slipstream. If you look at the intake scoops for the oil coolers on a B-25 you'll see that one has an extended lip, the other doesn't. Also because of this same influence. I guess they found out that the outflow scoops did not need this addition but I haven't looked into this. I know that the later variants did not have those outflow scoops.
