Was scheduled to leave for a 2:25pm flight out of JFK to Milwaukee on Thursday. After two delays the flight was eventually cancelled. for me and my father's first Oshkosh it sure was as a short one. And no realistic option for this year to make it in time. Very disappointed (needless to say).

The awards are handed out at the awards dinner on Saturday night, and the full list of awards will usually be posted online on Sunday.

Flightaware shows the Mosquito departed around 9:15am cst and tracking shows it headed towards Oshkosh !!!

Mosquito parked in warbird section now. Parked with the B25’s ,TBM and A26 Silver Dragon. Quite a crowd gathering, the Warbird in review may be altered for the Mossie as it scheduled earlier in the week.

Anyone else betting on the 109G (not the Allischmitt, which is so great to see there too) making a clean sweep of the awards?

Some warbird photos from my Monday-Thursday visit. This may have been my favorite of my seven trips to Oshkosh. The Grumman Cat flight was one of the best things I've seen at Oshkosh and brought back a lot of great memories of watching the Air Zoo 'Cats when I was a kid.

Slowly adding more photos, including military and some civilian performers here: https://flickr.com/photos/124970884@N02 ... 251113901/

If there's anything you want to see or want to see more of, let me know and I'll see what I have.

As I'm sure most know, it has undergone a complete bare bones/ground-up restoration at Ezell since having been acquired and brought back to the US by Rod Lewis in 2015.

Well, that's at least an indication that he's still interested in and involved with his warbirds.

Thank you, Matt (KalamazooKid), for sharing your photos from Oshkosh! It was great to see Cripes A' Mighty flown in, all the way from Chino, CA where it had recently been receiving a little TLC. I heard that it was flown in by its new owner, Hollywood film producer David Ellison, who, among many film credits, produced the recent Top Gun: Maverick. He also has a second P-51D currently under restoration with Fighter Rebuilders at Chino (44-72145 N51PT), which was previously painted as Petie 3rd.

Yeah, it was great hear from Rod Lewis that we may see his Hellcat at Oshkosh next year. Last year he sold a few of his warbirds to Charles Somers - the P-40C, a P-51D and DH Mosquito. He of course has a very expensive and well-advanced restoration at Chino, CA, in the form of the Lockheed VC-121A Constellation Bataan.

Awesome pix, kalamazookid! Got any more of the P-39, particularly if they show the pilot well?

Didn't get many more of the P-39, but here's another taxi shot that shows the pilot a little better and a couple static shots.
