Spitfire at Oshkosh Early 80's

On one of my first trips to Oshkosh back in the early 80's, there was a Spitfire that had been recovered form the jungles somewhere and they were taking donations to resore it. Does anyone know what became of this Spit and is it flying today?

Sounds like one of the Frasca aircraft to me.

Both Mk XVIIIs, one was eventually restored in England, flying in 1992, and is now back with the owner in the US.

The other, TP276, is 'ongoing'.

Only second hand info. Someone told me Rudy Frasca had it in storage. That was a couple of years ago.

The registry reports that TP276 is with Rudy Frasca and undergoing long term restoration to airworthy.

They look like Indian AF markings in Elwyn's pic.
I'm sure a google of TP276 will bring up its history, if PeterA doesn't chip in first !.
