This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

A vast majority of these photos have nothing to do with Ethell ??

The vast majority of these photos have everything to do with Ethell’s efforts to have them seen by those interested in their content.

Thanks for posting the link, Mark, brilliant stuff. Some are familiar, but most of them are not!

The only frustration I have is the (mostly) small format though it can be worked around sometimes. That and the shortage of descriptions. I still save every photo I like figuring at some point I’ll come into the info in the future.

I've never been able to open this, always says "invalid link" when I try to open it.

Try this to access the general collection.

What happened to the family’s plans to charge for access to his photo collection after his death? As I recall it all got quite nasty, with people who had provided Jeff with photos for free for research purposes for nothing getting understandably upset at the attempted monetization of his legacy.

No idea on my part, but many many of these photos in this series of Flickr albums have been floating around in the public domain for years. As has been stated it’s unfortunate that the size and clarity of these photos are poor. Glad though to be able to access them.

Such a shame that they are very low res images.

Sometimes I find that if I open the photo in the "view all sizes" feature (bottom right hand corner) copy and then paste into a photo viewer like Irfanview, it will open up in a much larger format. Not necessarily a clearer one with better detail but larger.
